Aviation Scholarship

The Mark Colman Aviation Foundation is proud to offer scholarships to aspiring pilots who share Mark’s passion for flight. Our goal is to provide financial assistance to individuals who dream of earning their pilot’s license but may face financial barriers.

This scholarship embodies Mark’s legacy by making flight accessible to people from all backgrounds.

Eligibility

  1. Must be a resident of the San Luis Valley or surrounding areas.

  2. Must demonstrate financial need.

  3. Must have a strong interest in flying and a desire to earn a pilot’s license.

  4. Preferred but not required: Younger adults (however, applicants of all ages are encouraged to apply).

Selection Process

A selection committee made up of members of the Mark Colman Aviation Foundation board will review all applications. Recipients will be chosen based on their essay, demonstrated financial need, and passion for aviation. Finalists may be contacted for an interview.

  • Funds will be given directly to the flight school/instructor that is indicated in the application.

  • Reapplications are highly encouraged!

  • You will be asked to provide proof of financial need if your application is selected to be awarded the scholarship.
